The Values Report - a sneak peak
In a world where the intersection of luxury, wellness, and sustainability forms the bedrock of a transformative travel experience, we proudly present our inaugural values report — a magnified look at travel the way we see it evolving, through a principles-based lens. As burgeoning PR agency owners, Dana O’Malley of Kindred Public Relations in the U.S. and I have spent the last three years working closely across the Atlantic to build a unified partnership combining our decades of expertise to support our shared values and make a difference with clients and teams who share the same future-forward vision.
In this report we explore how today's traveller seeks not just experiences, but journeys that align with their ethical values based on three key pillars:
Preventative Wellness: A new era of wellness travel is dawning. Boundaries between self-care, relaxation, mental health and exploration continue to blur. Learn more about ways in which people are embarking on a proactive, lifelong quest to achieve peace and longevity such as passive wellness at Rio Perdido, Blue Wellness at Nantipa and blue mind at Tabacon Thermal Resort and Spa (all in Costa Rica), and how Aleenta Resorts presents hyper-personalised wellness planning and a Work-from Host concierge service to cater for the growing number of solo-preneurs, like me, who are balancing family holidays with hands-on businesses.
Deepening Connections: Long-term sustainability is economic, social, and cultural. Preserving local heritage and deepening human and spiritual connections is imperative to sustain vibrant, thriving communities and a sense of belonging. Learn about how we build bonds with friends, family, and those we meet along the way through initiatives like Nantipa’s Tico Dinner Party, and the collaborative co-fermentation movement and immersive new lodging experiences in Sonoma County, CA.
Protecting Our Planet: It’s time to practice what we preach. We know about conscious travel and the relevant buzzwords associated with sustainability in all forms, but now is the time to enact practices that improve our planet, rather than doing damage control. Hotels have been called Living Laboratories, as we get a change to experiment with new ways of living while staying there, and there are plenty of ways we can replicate these simple hotel practices at home. Circular food initatives see Tabacon’s coffee partner Cafe Metropoli turning previously wasted husks into a new brewed beverage, nature mapping discovering new species in Costa Rica and citizen scientists in Monterey County, CA, tracking the endangered California Condor and becoming certified in Kelp Restoration.
We’re proud to share this Values Report, our north star, with you. This is a transformative era where values of travel, wellness, community, and sustainability converge to shape a future that is not just about movement but mindful exploration. In this dynamic landscape, the journey is not merely a physical voyage but a collective endeavor to create a better, more interconnected world, where the values of travel extend beyond the destination and into the very essence of our shared humanity.
